Magnitude 3.8 Earthquake Hits Haryana, Tremors Felt in Delhi
An earthquake of 3.8 magnitudes hit Haryana’s Jhajjar district in the early hours of Sunday, according to the National Center for Seismology (NCS). The tremors were also felt in Delhi and the surrounding areas.
The earthquake occurred at 1:19 am and was centered 5 km below the ground.
No major damage or casualties have been reported, but the Haryana Disaster Management Authority (HDMA) has advised people to take necessary precautions and remain calm.
This is the second earthquake to hit Haryana in the past two weeks, following a magnitude 3.0 quake on December 17.
India is located in a seismically active zone, and the NCS regularly monitors for earthquakes and issues alerts to the public.
