Nitish Kumar, the chief minister of Bihar, India, has said he has no problem with the Congress party’s idea of proposing Rahul Gandhi as the opposition’s candidate for Prime Minister in the 2024 general elections.
Kumar, the leader of the Janata Dal (United) party, stated that he is not interested in running for the position and is focused on uniting all parties opposed to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
Several senior Congress leaders, including former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Kamalnath and Chattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, have also expressed support for Rahul Gandhi as a candidate for Prime Minister in 2024.
However, Bihar’s Deputy Chief Minister, Tejashwi Yadav, has said that time will tell if Gandhi’s name is accepted as a candidate for the position.
