Editorial Policy

This page explains the standards we hold ourselves to.

We follow this policy on every article we publish.

How We Are Funded
THOUSIF Inc. – INDIA is funded by advertising.

Advertising revenue keeps the site free for readers.
Advertisers have no say in what we cover, how we cover it, or which stories we publish.

We do not remove published articles in exchange for payment.
If we ever publish sponsored content, it will be clearly labeled at the top of the article and separated from regular editorial content.
What We Cover
We publish across multiple categories, which include almost everything.
We focus on stories that matter to a global audience.
How We Choose Stories
We pick stories based on three questions:
- Does this matter to our readers?
- Can the core facts be verified?
- Does our version add something useful that readers cannot easily get elsewhere?
We do not publish rumors as facts.
We do not republish press releases without verifying their claims.
We do not chase clicks at the cost of accuracy.
How We Report And Source
We use primary sources wherever possible.
This includes official statements, government records, court filings, regulatory filings, company disclosures, peer-reviewed research, and named expert commentary.
When we cite a source, we name it in the article or link to it directly.
For routine news, we rely on established wire services and reputable publications, and we credit them by name.
For sensitive stories, including those involving crime, deaths, conflict, health claims, and political controversies, we seek confirmation from a primary source or a second, independent outlet before publishing.
If a claim cannot be confirmed, we either leave it out or clearly label it as unverified or a developing report.
We do not invent quotes.
We do not invent sources.
We do not fabricate details to make a story more dramatic.
How We Write
All articles are written by human writers and reviewed by a human editor before publishing.
We do not use AI tools to write our articles.
Our writing is plain, direct, and easy to read.
We use short paragraphs, clear structure, and simple language so a global audience can follow the story without effort.
We avoid hype, exaggeration, and emotional framing.
Use Of Images
We use images that we have the rights to use, that we license from approved providers, that fall under fair use for news reporting (where applicable), or that are properly credited to the source.
We do not use manipulated images or deepfakes to mislead readers.
When an image is illustrative rather than of the actual event, we note this in the caption.
Diversity Of Sources And Views
We work to include voices from different countries, communities, and political viewpoints in our coverage.
We actively seek perspectives from journalists and experts across different countries, political viewpoints, and cultural backgrounds to ensure balanced coverage.
On contested topics, we present the main positions fairly and let readers reach their own conclusions.
We do not slant coverage to favor one government, party, religion, or community.
Handling Sensitive Topics
For stories involving crime, violence, suicide, mental health, trauma, and grief, we follow careful reporting standards.
We do not publish graphic details that serve no public interest.
We do not name victims of sexual crimes or minors involved in legal cases, unless their identity is already part of an official public record and naming them adds clear public value.
We avoid language that stigmatizes any group based on religion, race, gender, sexuality, nationality, caste, or disability.
We respect the dignity of victims and their families.
Conflicts Of Interest
Our editorial team avoids covering subjects where a personal or financial conflict of interest exists.
If a conflict cannot be avoided, we disclose it inside the article so readers can judge the coverage for themselves.
Updates And Republishing
News changes after publication.
When new facts emerge, we update the article and add a note at the bottom explaining what changed and when.
We do not silently rewrite articles to hide earlier errors.
If we republish content from another source under a license or partnership, we clearly credit the source.
Corrections
We aim for accuracy, but mistakes can still happen.
When we make a mistake, we fix it as soon as possible and add a visible correction note to the article.
A separate Corrections Policy page covers this in more detail.
Reader Feedback And Complaints
Readers can write to us with feedback, story tips, complaints, or disagreements with our coverage.
We read every message.
We respond to genuine concerns within a reasonable timeframe.
How This Policy Is Maintained
This policy is reviewed regularly.
When we update it, we change the date below.
Significant changes will be noted in the summary at the bottom of the page going forward.
