BJP Leader Shehzad Poonawalla Criticizes Congress Over Ongoing Power Tussle in Rajasthan

Jaipur, Rajasthan: Shehzad Poonawalla, a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader, has expressed his disapproval of the Congress party regarding the persistent power struggle between Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot and former Deputy Chief Minister Sachin Pilot

Shehzad Poonawalla claimed that due to the internal conflict, the promises made by the Congress government to the people of Rajasthan had been overlooked, causing significant suffering among the state’s populace.

Power Tussle Hinders Progress

Poonawalla emphasized that the Congress government still needs to fulfill its commitments related to employment opportunities, education, healthcare improvements, and the provision of essential amenities to the citizens of Rajasthan.

Moreover, the ongoing power tussle between Gehlot and Pilot has severely affected the government’s ability to govern and address the needs of the people effectively.

Appeal for Resolution

Expressing concern for the people of Rajasthan, Poonawalla urged the Congress party to resolve the internal power struggle promptly and shift its focus back to governance.

The prolonged infighting has created a state of uncertainty.

It has hindered the government’s ability to implement essential policies and programs for the public’s welfare.

Background of the Power Tussle

The power struggle between Ashok Gehlot and Sachin Pilot first erupted in July 2020, when Pilot and 18 rebel Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs) challenged Gehlot’s leadership.

The dissident MLAs voiced their discontentment with Gehlot’s leadership style and accused him of marginalizing their influence within the party.

Intervening then, the Congress high command reconciled the differences between Gehlot and Pilot.

Resurfacing Conflicts

Despite the initial resolution, recent months have seen a resurgence of the power struggle between the two leaders.

Sachin Pilot has openly criticized Gehlot’s government, highlighting its failure to deliver on promised initiatives.

In response, Gehlot has accused Pilot of deliberately destabilizing the government for personal gain.

The renewed conflict has placed the Congress party in a challenging position as it prepares for the upcoming 2023 assembly elections.

Congress Party’s Response

In defense of Poonawalla’s allegations, the Congress party maintains that the government remains stable and functional despite the ongoing internal tensions.

However, the prolonged power struggle has undoubtedly hampered the party’s ability to govern and maintain a united front effectively.

Future Assembly Elections

The next assembly elections in Rajasthan are scheduled for 2023.

The ongoing power struggle within the Congress party has created uncertainty and may impact its performance in the upcoming elections.

The party faces resolving internal conflicts to regain public trust and present a unified front to the voters.

Conclusion

The power tussle between Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot and former Deputy Chief Minister Sachin Pilot continues to pose significant challenges for the Congress party in Rajasthan.

As Shehzad Poonawalla criticized the party for neglecting the promises made to the people, it became crucial for the Congress leadership to address the internal conflict promptly and refocus their efforts on effective governance.

The resolution of the power struggle will be pivotal for the party’s future success in the forthcoming assembly elections.
