India is set to participate in all significant summits that promote the agenda of global peace, security, and development, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced in an interview with PTI.

While Modi has not confirmed his attendance at the upcoming Global Peace Summit, he assured India would be represented.

“The level of participation will depend on timing, logistics, and parallel commitments,” Modi explained.

New Delhi has consistently called for a diplomatic resolution to Russia’s war against Ukraine while maintaining strong economic ties with Moscow.

Following Western sanctions on Russia, India emerged as one of the primary buyers of Russian oil, although this trade faces increasing pressure from U.S. sanctions.

At the same time, Ukraine has been actively seeking India’s support for President Volodymyr Zelensky’s 10-point peace formula, which calls for the complete withdrawal of Russian troops from Ukraine.

The Global Peace Summit is scheduled for June 15-16 at the Burgenstock resort in Switzerland, and over 60 countries have confirmed their participation.

Zelensky has ruled out Russia’s involvement in the event due to its ongoing attacks on Ukraine.

Modi highlighted that India’s invitation to the summit recognizes its significant role in international affairs.

He emphasized that India will “resonate the voice of the Global South” at the summit to influence the global discourse and contribute to peaceful resolutions.

India’s involvement in these international summits underscores its pivotal role in fostering global peace and stability.

Through diplomatic engagement and active participation, India continues to address global challenges and advocate for cooperative solutions.
