Rajasthan Anti-Corruption Unit Arrests ASP Divya Mittal in Ongoing Bribery Case

In a major development in the ongoing bribery case in Ajmer, Rajasthan, the Anti Corruption Unit (ACB) has arrested Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Divya Mittal of the Special Operation Group (SOG). 

The Jaipur wing of the ACB conducted a search operation at Mittal’s residence and is currently searching Anasagar Lake in Ajmer, where Divya Mittal is believed to have thrown her mobile phone and other belongings.

According to reports, Divya Mittal received word of the imminent raid and disposed of her mobile phones in the lake on the night of January 15th, 2023. 

The ACB is receiving assistance from the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) in its search efforts, but more needs to be recovered thus far.

In her defense, Divya Mittal claims that she has been falsely accused of bribery in exchange for removing the names of accused individuals in a drug case that the Ajmer police had seized a consignment of drugs worth more than Rs 16 crore in 2021. 

Divya Mittal maintains that many high-ranking officials in Ajmer are involved in the drug trade and that the bribe money reaches the top levels of the police force.

The ACB is currently investigating the matter and trying to determine the extent of the bribe money involved. 

An informant brought the case to their attention on January 4th, 2023.
